Lotte Giants-uh!

One of my favourite pastimes in Korea is to hit a baseball game. Its super cheap-7 bucks, and you can take your own food and drink in, including beer! Anne and I recently bought a new cooler bag so we could start enjoying baseball the Korean way- with plenty of pre-purchased mekju (beer) and snacks!
As far as the actual playing goes, I dont know that our team is really that good, but the atmosphere is awesome. Before you even get into the stadium you have free entertainment in the form of dancing soju bottles!
What better way to embed in the youth of Korea that drinking soju is awesome than to have friendly, dancing , baseball loving soju bottles performing and taking pictures with the kids at the local baseball game!

It was Sams first time at a Korean baseball game and I think he was pretty impressed with the festivities. Each popular player has their own chant and throughout the game the cheerleaders dance and, well, lead the cheers. Its also Annes birthday tomorrow so her co-teachers bought her an icecream cake- decorated like a baseball field :)
Today we discovered yet another great Korean idea- the 1 buck tray that hooks over the chair in front. They think of everything! :) They were also selling some new inflatable...things. We love cheap baseball paraphernalia, so we bought some. The say ma! which is kind of like oi! in a negative form. We also discovered that theyre great for making our faces look smaller! :P (this is very important to korean women - the smaller the face =the more beautiful you are!And to finish off a perfect evening- you get to wear plastic bags on your head! These are given out toward the end of each game to put all of your rubbish in, but until then they are used as accessories. There seem to be 3 styles: the classic bubble head (which my buddies are sporting), the bow and the devil.
