Over the weekend, one of my coteachers was hit by a motorbike. She spent Saturday night in hospital and has a black eye and swollen face, fractured arm and bruises everywhere.
Yet, here she was on Monday morning. Why? Because the assembly had to be broadcast and no other teacher in the entire school knows how to operate the broadcasting system. It's sooo ridiculous. No other teachers will volunteer to learn because they don't want the extra work and the Higher Ups don't want to force anyone else to do it because they don't want to piss the other teachers off.
Anyway, my co-teacher is an absolute trooper and insists she is ok. She is really worried because she was supposed to have a blind date next weekend but doesn't want to go if her face is still swollen. :P She has been holding a refridgerated, raw egg against her eye, as per doctors orders, to help with the bruising and swelling. (My older coteacher believes that this is effective because the egg will draw out the bruise and the bruise will go into the egg instead) the injured co-teacher and I believe it's simply because it's cold. I explained that in the past, we would just put a bit of steak on a black eye. Now the older co-teacher is convinced that the protein in eggs and steak have something to do with easing bruises.....
